The Legal Archives Society of Alberta hosted its annual Historical Dinner at the Fairmont Palliser and honoured two of its best – the Rt. Hon. R. B. Bennett and The Hon. J.H. Laycraft. Susan Billington introduced the two featured speakers. First, Gordon Brown, Q.C. who spoke of the life and times of R.B. Bennett, the first President of the Canadian Bar Association and former Prime Minister; and secondly Hon Cliff O`Brien, QC. who spoke on the distinguished career of former Chief Justice of Alberta the Hon. J.H Laycraft. Susan Billington has served on the Board of Directors of the Legal Archives Society of Alberta since 2013.
